Dressed in Elegance – the Hidden Face of Herend Porcelain

2025. September 5.
The exhibition “Dressed in Elegance – The Hidden Face of Herend Porcelain” ceremonially opened at Várpalota Gallery, as a highlight of the jubilee Várpalota Days.
The airy, delicate, and brilliant works of Herend Porcelain Manufactory, which will be 200 years old next year, are now presented in a special selection.
“Quality, elegance, beauty, miracle” – this is how the mayor of Várpalota, Márta Campanari-Talabér, put it in her welcome speech. She emphasized: “An old dream has come true with the opening of the exhibition, as it does not just present objects, but an entire cultural world to visitors.”
Dr. Attila Simon, CEO of Herend Porcelain Manufactory, emphasized: Herend porcelain works are not simple objects of use, but all carry artistic value. Each piece contains the fullness of the world, the power of the four elements, and while reflecting the roots of tradition, they also have the ability to renew themselves.
The aim of the exhibition is for the community to discover the legacy of Herend masters, the two-hundred-year-old tradition that expresses the values of the past in the language of the 21st century, thus proclaiming that tradition is not just a memory, but a living force – a source from which the future is also nourished.
The opening ceremony was attended by a large number of spectators, and the event was highlighted by the singing of Zsuzsanna Forgács.
