A girl from Balatonfüred is the Belle of this year’s Anna Ball!
2024. July 28.
The Anna Ball in Balatonfüred and the world-leading Herend Porcelain Manufactory are connected by values. In Veszprém County, there are only two Hungaricums, one is Herend porcelain, and the other is Anna Ball.
This year’s porcelain heart made for the 199th Anna Ball and placed around the ladies’ necks upon arrival in the garden of the Vaszary Villa had the fantasy name “Rose arbour”. Its colour was inspired by the roses of Balatonfüred, and it was painted in purple and decorated with real gold.
The Belle of the 199th Anna Ball was Kriszta Szonja Soós, an 18-year-old girl from Balatonfüred, the 1st runner-up was Angelika Mihály from Budapest, and the 2nd runner-up was Jázmin Bundschuh, also from Budapest. This year too, the Belle of the Ball and the runners-up received Herend ornamental vases, which were made in the spirit of tradition and innovation. The traditional Victoria, Rothschild and Apponyi patterns provided the tradition, and the innovation came from the redesign of these patterns in new colour combinations. Each year, special ornamental vases are given to the beautiful ladies of the ball.
At the ball, the Ernő Kiss porcelain statuette, also made by Herend, was handed over to an awardee who has done a lot for Balatonfüred and its region. Ferenc Molnár, the owner of Ilcsi Beautifying Herbs, received the Kiss Ernő Prize this year. The guests of the ball consumed the menu from a Herend porcelain dinner set; the prom dinner was served on a 3,300-piece Herend porcelain tableware, worth about 120 million forints.
